I decided to create a Prezi for my professional learning plan. My original idea was to create it using Storybird, but I think I was having TOO much fun and not getting anything done, so I switched to a Prezi, which has a lot less distractions. I looked back at my goals from CEP 810 and reflected on them. Take a look, tell me what you think!
Hehe – thanks for the shout out in your Prezi :) I am so glad you are finding ways to use wikis in your classroom. I love how you organized your presentation – you have a great eye for layout! It was neat to see all the technologies we have learned about listed out – we sure have learned a lot in these courses. When you wrote, “I’m starting my lesson plans early and I’ve never been so excited” – I totally relate to that feeling. Refreshing, isn’t it??? I enjoyed reading about the project ideas you have for using technology to teach specific standards. I can’t wait to hear about all the things you and your students accomplish with technology next year. Your “work with what you got” attitude will take you far – you’re going to accomplish great things as you continue to learn and lead at your school!
ReplyDeleteDana, your Prezi looks amazing! I love the layout and design (and of course the content is great too).
ReplyDeleteI know how hard it is to start out with nothing (as far as tech is concerned). But I love your ideas of searching for grants and using what you have access to now. That's what I did, and now I have more technology than probably anyone in the district. :) I think you're right, you shouldn't sulk about what you don't have. However, it's really important to stay on top of what's out there so you know how to most effectively write a grant or use a tech if your school randomly hits the lottery. The best part about these classes is that everyone pretty much has the same goals (and budgets). We are all looking for FREE ways to incorporate technology. So, it's super-important that we keep our ties we've made within this program so we can motivate each other to keep up with the Joneses in the future.
Again, it's been fun working with our group. And I really look forward to seeing what you do in the future with the wiki, storybirds, and all the other awesome resources you plan to use!
Dana,
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job on your Prezi. It looks great! You are right, we do all have the same goals in mind as elementary educators. We want the best for our students and to set them up for success and to be able to compete with others. Integration of technology is a valuable and wonderful tool. You have worked hard on sharing your knowledge and passion with others in your building, and as you stated in your Prezi, you are a leader. I loved how you pointed out that you used to “sulk” about not having technology, but now you know how to go about finding free resources. I feel the same way after taking these courses, a fresh start and energy! Good luck writing your grants and hopefully you get awarded a lot of new things that you can use to teach your students with! Have a wonderful summer. :)
